摘要
《专用语言的测试》论述了专用语言能力的定义、专用语言能力测试和通用语言能力测试的共性与个性、专业语境的本质和语域、专用语言使用的内部和外部特征等重要概念 ,首次形成了测试领域内用于描述各方面特征的理论框架 ,讨论了专业目的语实地使用情况分析、测试设计的准则性指标以及测试设计、实施与分析所涉及的技术问题。本文对该书的理论性、实践性和新颖性进行了评价 ,认为该书是测试研究领域内的极为重要的文献。
The author takes a detailed review of the book Assessing Languages for Specific Purposes (LSP)in its theorization, practicality, and novelty.As introduced in the review,the book discusses such important conceptions as a) the definition of LSP ability;b)the commonness shared by LSP tests and LGP (language for general purposes)tests as well as their different individualities;c)the nature of context and register; and d)the inner and outer characteristics of the usage and use of LSP, thereby initiates the theoretical frameworks to be used for the description of the characteristics in the field concerned.The book also provides a discussion on the analyses of the usage and use of LSP on the spot, the norm for the design of LSP tests, along with the technical problems in the designing, implementing and analyzing of LSP tests. In conclusion,the author of this review considers the book a very important contribution to the testing research in the field of LSP.
