福建福安的淡水水母

The Freshwater Medusa of Fuan City, Fujian Province

本文记述了福建淡水水母一新亚种——福安桃花水母Craspedacusta sowerbyi fuanensis subsp. nov. 文章还将福安标本与各地标本作了比较,并提出讨论。

Many freshwater medusa specimens were collected from a pool near the Fu chun river in Fuan city, Fujian province, on Nov. 4, 1989, Nov. 20, 1990 and Aug. 9, 1991.These specimens are identified as a new subspecies of Craspedacusta sowerbyi Lankester. The type specimens are deposited in Department of Biology, Fujian Normal University.Craspedacusta sowerbyi fuanensis subsp, nov. (fig. 1-6)Unbrella 6—24mm in diameter, orders of tentacles are 7, Shape of nematocysts warts is conical either in large tentacles or in small ones. Tubular statocysts, 123—230 in number. Triangular gonads, yellowish-greenish in living specimens. Mele and f(?)male specimens were collected at same time.The new subspecies differs from C. sowerbyi Lankester 1880 and the other four forms previously known in China in characteristics listed in table(2).
