Based on the study of Pearson's theory of hard-soft acids and bases and frontier molecule orbit (FMO), T-2K collector having high collecting ability and high sellectivity was designed. Industrial tests show that, compared to bulk flotation by xanthate followed by separation, the preferential flotation of sulfide copper using T-2K collector can improve the copper concentrate grade and recovery by 0.56 percent point and 2.31 percent points, gold and silver recoveries in copper concentrate by 7.03 percent points and 9.48 percent points respectively.
