召公与周初政治

Zhao Gong and Politics in the Early Zhou Dynasty

周初政局 ,内忧外患。文王之子召公在周公的劝说下 ,积极发挥自己的影响力 ,同周公一起 ,平灭三监叛乱 ,挽救了即将倾覆的周王朝 ;南征江汉 ,经营了周的南国 ;负责营建东都洛邑 ;提出了“敬德”“殷鉴”思想 ;扶立康王继位。召公是周初一位重量级的政治人物 ,其历史作用不容忽视 。

The early Zhou Dynasty was characterized by both domestic and foreign conflicts. Under the guidance of his father, Wen Wang, Zhao Gong narrowly but successfully put down the Three Jian Rebellion and saved his fledgling dynasty. Zhao Gong also reinstated his authority in regions to the south through a series of military campaigns. He also established an eastern capital at Luoyi and learning from the violent and authoritarian methods used by the Yin rulers, promulgated the just idea of 'rule of law.' He passed on his power to his son, Kang Wang. Zhao Gong is clearly one of the most influential figures in the Early Zhou period and we should reevaluate the importance of his political contribution.
