The Syntactic and Semantic Properties and Cognitive Analysis of Prototypical-patient Object Sentence

本文在认知语法理论框架内探讨典型受事宾语句及其次类的共性特征和个性特征 ,共性特征说明了把各小类归入同一个范畴的原因 ,而个性特征则说明了各小类在该范畴内的独立地位 ,各不同的典型受事宾语在受事性程度上形成一个等级序列 ,并认为 :典型受事宾语句在语用上是中性的 ,对其形成机制的解释应主要从认知方面来进行。

This paper mainly focuses on the discussion of both the common and specific characteristics of. prototypical-patient object sentence and its various subcategories in a cognitive grammar theoretical framework. These common characteristics explain why we subsume the various subcategories into a same grammatical category, and the specific characteristics explain their relative independent status in a same category. We argue that the degree of the patientivity forms a rank hierarchy. This paper holds that the prototypical-patient object sentence is pragmatically neutral, and its formation mechanism should be explored mainly from a cognitive approach.
