ZHANG Ailing claims to be worldly herself. Thus,her prose keeps close to secular life either in choice of themes or in pursuit of aesthetic .However ,her profound wisdom and reflections on life enable her prose to transcend worldliness and commonness. From time to time readers are greatly inspired by her writing which demonstrates her philosophical depth. This paper intends to summarize aesthetic features of ZHANG Ailing's prose and analyze the formations of her unique style from the perspective of the age and the writer.
