As a proposed speech coding plan for 3GPP WCDMA, Adaptive Multi-Rate(AMR) vocoder is a multimode integrated ACELP. According to the standard, a detail dissection of the core algorithm for the implementation of the vocoder is suggested, such as high-performing codebook design, codevector search,multileveled VQ technique, as well as simplification for the preprocess part.Finally, by utilizing the fixed-point ANSI-C algorithm simulating program, the authors compute and profile the complexity of operations with regard to each part of the whole algorithm.
