This paper introduces the situation of liting the upper mining limit in Xuchang Coal Mine. On the condition that is roof rock pillar thickness used for waterproof coal pillar is not enough, through analysis, exploration and proof, increase the upper mining limit, recover the large quantity of permanent resources of waterproof coal pillar,insure mine safety and obtain the great economic benefit.
