究竟什么力量推倒了柏林墙——与鲁品越教授商榷

What Brought Down the Berlin Wall?——A Discussion with Professor Lu Pinyue

《中国社会科学》2 0 0 2年第 3期刊登鲁品越教授的文章认为 ,2 0世纪后半叶 ,西方发达国家经济体内部追求向全球市场扩张的资本的力量 ,借助于新科技革命特别是信息技术的力量推倒了柏林墙。本文作者则认为 ,资本力量只是产生这一后果的外部条件之一。而民主德国国内经济滑坡、政治倒退以及苏联影响诸因素互动形成的整体合力 ,才是推倒柏林墙的根本动力所在。

According to an article written by Professor Lu Pinyue in issue number three, 2002, of China Social Sciences, the wes- tern countries in the second half of the twentieth century were able to bring down the Berlin Wall, with the support of the revolution in new technology, especially information technology, in their pursuit of expanding capitalism to the global market. The author believes that capitalist power is only one of the external conditions leading to the collapse of the Berlin Wall. The roots for this event lay in the joint forces of the economic slowdown, the political setbacks of the German Democratic Republic, and the influence of the Soviet Union.
