In the field of functional materials, those new antibacterial materials especially the inorganic antibacterial agents characterized with nontoxic and longer effecting become more and more popular nowadays. In this paper, the antibacterial materials' antibacterial mechanisms, characteristics also about their application field and foreground have been introduced in detail. At last, a direction that antibacterial materials should be researched and developed in the future was suggested.
