A Study of the Relationship between Zhou Shen and High officials

沈周虽一生隐居不仕,但在日后却获得"身居林下,名满天下"之赞誉,被称为"邦家之光"。究其因,除了天赋、勤奋等内在方面的因素之外,也与他和名宦们的频繁交往以及后者对他的抬爱推介等外部条件密不可分。

Although Zhou Shen was a hermit and had never been an official, he obtained the appreciation of living in seclusion, reputing in the world. He was regarded as 'the light of diplomatic relations'. As for the reasons, besides his gift and diligence, it has close relevance to the external factors that he had the frequent and intimate communication with high officials who appreciated him so much. This article examines the association between Zhou Shen and some high officials.
