摘要
Er ya is a pioneering work in the field of Chinese toponymy linguistics. It creates a new style of critical interpretation of place names in ancient books and makes a systematic explanation of some special names as well as general names of places in the Qin Dynasty and in the Han Dynasty, thus originating norms of interpreting place names in ancient books and exercising a profound influence on the following two thousand years of linguistic toponymy.
