摘要
文章从语言性、交际性和个体性三方面来论述外语教学的主要性质 ,提出语言形式必须在使用中学习才能被真正掌握和活化 ;在语言交际中发展语言能力 ,语言能力反过来又促进语言交际 ,最终达到交际能力的完善。外语教学在提供各种交际环境和活动的同时 ,应关注学生的认知和心理需求 ,给他们提供一个自主的、有利于发展创造能力的。
This paper defines the properties of foreign language t eaching in thre e perspectives: linguisticness,communicativeness and individualism.The author ho lds that,as a rule,the acquisition and activation of language forms can never be appro ached unless learning is closely combined with application,and that language communication helps develop the learner's language competence,which in turn can facilitate communication.As a result,adequate communicative competence can be achieved.As a foreign language teacher,one should provide the learner not only with a setting for interaction and practice,but also attention to his or her cog nitive and psychological need.In so doing,an atmosphere for independent, creativ e and flexible learning can be formed.
