Quality Education and Physical Education Tests Are Not Opposites

在推进素质教育活动中 ,一些人以为取消考试即可让学生“全面发展”。殊不知 ,取消考试意味着取消教学过程的督促机制和竞争机制 ,势必造成教育质量的滑坡。在未能找出更佳的手段代替之前 ,尚不能以轻率的态度否定考试 ,体育也不例外。以“健康第一”为目标 ,体育考试改革应朝着定量和定性相结合、终结性考试与过程性评价相结合的方向发展。

Some people think quality education should go without tests. The fact is, the quality of education will suffer when tests as monitoring and evaluation mechanisms are abandoned. Therefore, before better options have been discovered, regular tests must still be maintained. With good health as its aim, physical education should introduce quantitative as well as qualitative tests, and achievement as well as progress tests.
