Carbon nanotubes with different diameter distributions have been produced by thermal decomposition of a ferrocene-xylene mixture under different temperatures in an Ar/H 2 atmosphere. The diameter ranges of the carbon nanotubes produced under 740, 780, 820 and 880℃ are 17-80nm, 20-73nm, 40-70nm and 17-27nm, respectively. Both TEM and Raman studies show that carbon nanotubes with best crystallinity are produced under 820℃.
