Abstract There is only one Raman-active mode of F^(25+)(F_(2g)) (F_(2g))symmetry in the first order for Sp^3 diamond phase,which is observed at l332cm^(-1),The E_(2g) modes are Raman active and have been observed at 42 and l 580cm^(_1)for graphite Sp^2 phase. An additional disordered Raman line is at about 1355cm^(-1). In this paper, three of the Raman lines at 1332,1355 1580cm^(-1) are considered to calculate the Sp^2 Sp^3 bonding ratio of polycrystall diamond thin film by using computer fitting.
