Abstract SERS was used as a surface analytical tool to study the adsorbption behaviour of imidazole （1M）on a roughaned silver electrode in 0． 1mol／L KCl solution at pH4， pH7， or pH9．5． The adsorption of imidazole depended on the electrode potential and on the pH of the solution was discussed.
