Abstract We describe the Artificial Neural Networks (ANNS) and its appli-cation in Raman Spectrum data processing. Studing the back-propagation neu- ral network with different learning rate coefficients (μ), we found that the net-works performed optimally when the value of μ was 0.5. By comparing the re- sults of the process and the original data, we illustrated that the networks with the sigmoid transfer functions could correct the slight spectral distortions, ob-tain better signal-to-noise ratios, and it could improve the resolution a little.
