The seal procedure with pressure in the leak accident of the heat exchanger in the reborner of a methanol plant was presented. The leak position and environment were particular, and the leak proofness was very difficult. It was concluded that the design and manufacture of the seal holder were a key for the seal technology with pressure in an operating condition.
