讲政治是领导班子思想政治建设的题中之义。领导工作的特征决定了党外领导干部必须讲政治，党外领导干部讲政治必须坚持中国共产党的领导，必须坚持以邓小平理论指导工作，必须坚决贯彻中国共产党在社会主义初级阶段的基本路线，必须切实承担起维护社会稳定的政治责任。党外领导干部讲政治应当落实在实际工作中。

Placing emphasis on politics is the main idea of the ideological politics construction of the lead- ers group. The characteristics of the leaders' work decide that the Non-Communist Party Leaders must place emphasis on politics. In practice they must adhere to the leadership of the Chinese Communist Par- ty, insist on Deng Xiao-ping's theory as the guidelines for work, resolutely carry out the basic line of the Chinese Communist Party on the elementary stage of the socialist society, and practically shoulder the po- litical responsibility of maintaining social security. The idea of placing emphasis on politics for the Non- Communist Party Leaders should be put into practice.
