The ignition behaviours had been examined under various operating conditions, such as different collision angles between pulverized coal-air flow and oxygenace-tylene flame torch, different velocity, concentrations of coal/air mixture, and so on. The optimum ignition condition appears at a proper collision angle. The experimental results are in accord with that of theoretical analyses in non-isothermal jet theory.
