摘要
光子集成电路是推动光通信网络发展的关键技术。值此光子集成电路(PIC)的概念提出50周年之际,回顾使光子集成电路取得成功的基础性工作,以及从早期的InP PICs到如今的全集成多通道密集波分复用(DWDM)片上系统(SoC)PICs的发展历程。讨论当前最先进的商业多通道SoC PICs,展望了光通信领域InP PICs的主要发展趋势。
Photonic integrated circuit(PIC)is the key technology to promote the development of optical communication network.On the fiftieth anniversary of the introduction of photonic integrated circuits,the foundational work which enabled the success of PICs is reviewed,and the development progress from the early InP PICs to today’s fully integrated multichannel dense wavelength division multiplexing(DWDM)system on chip(SoC)PICs is described.In addition,the most advanced commercial multi-channel SoC PICs,and the main development trend for the future of InP PIC in optical communication is prospected.
