Reflection on the Study of Oral Information

在当代社会体系中,存在着口传、文献与电子这三种信息流。事实上,口传信息是人类最早的、最常用的、也是最有用的社会信息传播方式。从“周公恐惧流言日”的历史传说到美国“9·11事件”后的社会议论,无不表明口传信息在社会信息流中的基础作用。对口传信息进行研究不仅是必要的,也是迫切的。

In modern society, there are three forms of information stream——oral, documentary and electronic. As a matter of fact, oral information is the earliest, the most frequently - used as well as the most useful method of communication. From the legend ' Zhou Gong fearing the rumor date' in China three thousand years ago to the gossip about '911 Disaster' in America in 2001, all these show the important role that oral messages play in information stream.
