摘要
激光显示技术是继黑白显示、标准彩色显示和数字显示后的第四代显示技术。基于激光技术的背光源的优点在于激光具有良好的单色性、宽广的色域和很高的亮度,其色域覆盖度为荧光显示的2倍以上,并可以达到人眼所能识别色彩空间的92%以上,因此激光显示被称为"人类视觉史上的一场革命"。目前世界各国都投入极大的人力物力,希望能将这种技术充分市场化。基于激光技术的背光源很早以前就已经被提出,但直到今天仍然没有像LED背光源在液晶显示中的应用那样普及,说明了在技术发展上仍有许多需要改进的地方。本文将从一个参与者的角度分析和讨论激光背光显示中所面临的三大技术挑战:激光光源,激光和导光板间的光学耦合和激光散斑抑制,希望能与国内外同行进行讨论。
Laser display is the fourth generation display technologywhich is followed by the black and white display,standard color display and digital display. The advantage of backlight unit based on laser is that it has a good color,a wide color gamut and high brightness,the color gamut coverage is more than 2 times wider than normal fluorescent displaywhichcan achieve more than 92% of the whole color space,so the laser display is known as a revolution in the history of human vision. At present,a lot of countries have invested great power and material resources,hoping to make this technology fully market-oriented.Backlight unit based on laser technologyhad appeared early,but until today it still not popular asL ED backlight unit used in liquid crystal display. It indicates that there are still many parts need to be improved. This paper will be the view of a participant analysis and discuss the three major technical challenges with laser backlight display:laser source,the optical coupling between the laser and the light guide plate and laser speckle suppression,and hope to discuss with their counterparts around the world.
