语域理论及其对诗歌分析的作用

Register theory and its'value in poem analysis

本文试用功能语言学中的语域理论来分析一首英文诗歌 ,从而探讨语域理论在诗歌语义分析中的价值。作者从语场 (field)、语旨 (tenor)和语式 (mode)等三个方面分析了美国诗人WaltWhitman的“EthiopiaSalut ingtheColors”。作者的结论是 ,从以上三个方面分析英语诗歌的语义和语用特征 ,能够帮助我们深入领会诗歌的意义 。

The present article is an attempt to apply the register theory in functional linguistics to the semantic and pragmatic analysis of an English poem,the purpose of which is to discuss the value of the register in poem analysis.From these three aspects of register:field,tenor and mode,the author analyzes a poem'Ethiopia saluting the colors'by the American poet walt Whitman.The conclusion is that analying the language use and semantics in poems helps us better understand the meaning and aesthetics of poems.
