南宋象棋大师文天祥

Wen Tianxiang——a Great Master of Chinese Chess of the Southern Song Dynasty

象棋是中国的国棋。作为中国传统文化造就的知识分子,文天祥对象棋文化有着一种特殊的爱好。在归隐文山期间,他经常约邀朋友在山中聚会,或登山赏景,或弈棋吟诗,使文山成为当时庐陵、乃至整个江西的象弈中心。他不但棋艺高超,而且有理论建树--撰写了棋谱,首创出蒙目象棋的走法,从而成为中国13世纪的象棋大师,在中国象棋史上享有很高的地位。

Chinese Chess is China's(national chess.As an intellectual created by china's) tradiitional culture,Wen Tianxiang was keen on Chinese chess.When he lived in seclusion in his hometown Wen-shan, he and his friends often went into mountains for mountain-climbing,sight-seeing,chessing,or composing poems.Consequently Wenshan became the chessing centre of the then Luling and even the then Jiangxi.He not only was skillful in playing chess but also made great contribution to the theories of chessing:he wrote some chessbooks and initiated the touch-chessing.He thus became a great master of Chinese chess of the 13th-century China,enjoying a high status in the history of China's chessing.
