Comparison Between English and Chinese in Discriminatory Proverbs

英汉语言都存在歧视性谚语,主要包括四个方面,即女性歧视、地域性歧视、贫困歧视、职业歧视。英汉歧视性谚语特点为:拥有共层文化背景;反映出不同文化渊源;体现不同的文化内涵、思维观念。

There exist discriminatory proverbs both in English and Chinese,including mainly four aspects,namely,female discrimination,regional discrimination,poverty discrimination and professional discrimination.Discriminatory proverbs both in English and Chinese share the following features: they enjoy,on the whole,the same cultural setting;they show different cultural origins and they display different ways of thinking.
