Mara and Dann:An Adventure is Doris Lessing's typical apocalyptical ecological novel.The journey of the protagonists from the south to north is a process of broadening contact with the society and nature,which embodies in-depth ecological self-realization,that is,from the physiological 'ego' to 'the social self',then from 'the social self' to the metaphysical 'ecological self'.
