On the Necessity of Strengthening Students' Career Guidance in Ethnic Universities Under New Circumstance——A Case Study of Sichuan University for Nationalities

以四川民族学院为例,探讨地方性民族院校如何突破自身困境,通过特色课程设置、专业师资队伍建设及加强实践等途径,帮助学生树立信心、提升就业竞争力,破解就业难题,提高学校声誉和影响力,更好地实现服务地方、促进学校和社会发展的办学宗旨,期冀对学校领导和决策者提供可操作性的建议。

Under new circumstance of severe pressure from both students' employment and schools' survival, ethnic universities, especially regional ethnic ones should emphasize and strengthen students' career guidance, which is a key factor for students' employment and university's development. The essay, with a case study of Sichuan University for Nationalities, explores some feasible suggestions in current tough job-hunting market for ethnic university students' career guidance, namely, strengthening career education, pursuing unique courses, cultivating professional planners, and reinforcing practice, etc.; thus, the students in ethnic universities can promote their competitiveness in job-hunting market so as to honor universities' fames and promote economic development of society.
