This paper describes that the light and heat resources in North-west spring wheat region are favorable for developing wheat. This is the superiority. The inferiority lies on the high production cost and long distance for transportation. The best choice is to produce durum red spring wheat and durum white spring wheat which possess both price and regional superiority. The authors raise that policy and financial support must be rendered to develop durum red spring wheat so as to solve the problems of variety preservation, variety purification and the culture of succeeding varieties as well.
