重庆袍哥在辛亥革命前期的反清斗争中为辛亥革命在重庆地区奠定了坚实的群众基础,也为重庆的光复立下了汗马功劳。但在辛亥革命进行中,袍哥固有的落后性和阶级的局限性也暴露出来,使重庆乃至西南革命遭受重创。随着重庆的光复,当局对袍哥态度的转变,重庆袍哥逐渐走向没落。

They charge and shatter enemy positions in the Revolution of 1911 and make much success in this revolution.However, the backwardness and class limitation of Paoge gradually expose, they inflict heavy losses on Chongqing even the Southwest revolution. Chongqing's Paoge gradually decline with the Chongqing's recovery and the authority converting the attitude to Paoge.
