Steel plate shear wall is a favorable lateral resisting element. In this paper,it is discussion on classification and related research literature for steel plate shear wall,discussing the research and development process and studies of each type of steel plate shear wall,enumerating its advantages and summarizing the conclusions drawn from previous studies. According to above researches,it explores the advantages and disadvantages of each kind of steel plate shear wall and discussion about practical application,and some conclusions are obtained.
