Study on Independent Police Teams of Japanese Invading Forces

1945年初,由于日本在太平洋战场上的失利,侵华日军将战略重点转移到了准备在中国东南沿海与美军作战上。为贯彻这一战略,侵华日军将大批在中国内地作战的日军部队向中国东南沿海地区预定与美军作战地区运动,并在因原警备部队撤离而产生的防御空位地区重新组建了13支旅团级别的独立警备队。由于成军仓促,独立警备队的整体实力较弱。在日本投降后,独立警备队经历了混乱的复员遣返。

When Japan met with failure in the Pacific theater at the beginning of 1945,Japanese invading troops shifted its strategic focus to southeast coast of China,preparing to fight against US Armed Forces there.In order to implement this strategy,the Japanese forces moved large numbers of troops to the southeastern coastal areas of China,and reestablished thirteen brigade-and regiment-level Independent Police Teams in places where the former police garrisons had been before their withdrawal.The Independent Police Teams were weak in overall strength as they were mobilized and set up in haste,and after Japan’s surrender,they were demobilized in a chaotic manner.
