On Origin of Iran-Iraq War

两伊战争的爆发是伊朗和伊拉克在地缘政治、意识形态、国家利益等多重因素共同作用下的结果。究其起因,战争爆发前两伊既有历史恩怨、民族矛盾、教派纷争等分歧长期存在,也受到了领土纠纷、决策者冲突、体制对立等现实矛盾的直接影响,同时还有导致战争爆发的政治经济动因渗透其中。因此,两伊战争的起因复杂,包含了历史与现实多重因素的考量,但其本质上是国家利益之争,是综合国力对比权衡下的选择。

The outbreak of the Iran-Iraq War was the result of the combined effects of multiple factors such as geopolitics,ideology and national interests in Iran and Iraq.Before the war broke out,the two countries had suffered long-standing issues such as historical grievances,national conflicts and sectarian disputes,and they were also directly afflicted by current problems like territorial disputes,policymakers’conflicts and institutional oppositions.What’s more,there were various political and economic driving agents for war.Therefore,the causes of the Iran-Iraq War were complicated,including multiple factors both from history and in current reality,but it was essentially a dispute of national interests and it was a choice made by Iran and Iraq after considerations of their own comprehensive national strength.
