Emily Bronte's novel Wuthering Heights vividly portrayed complicated character Heathcliff, whose cruelty and insane revenge leave readers with great shock. However, Heathcliff is far more than a monster, but only a crazy avenger whose character is twisted during continuous abuse and desertion. Eventually, Heathcliff chooses to regain his humanity after reflecting on his revengeful behaviors, attaining the transformation and sublimation among id, ego, and superego.
