The Cognitive Nature of Metaphor and the Translation of Metaphorical Image

现代隐喻学认为,人类思维模式是一个隐喻的结构系统。隐喻是人类的普遍认知方式。本文在现代隐喻研究理论框架下对死隐喻、库存隐喻、创新隐喻的翻译及存在的困难和问题提出了思考,即:译文和原文意象映射是否一致;是否出现文化意象转换的亏损。

The modern study of metaphor holds the view that the human thinking mode is a structure system of metaphor. Metaphor is human beings' universal cognitive way of thinking. Under the modern metaphor research theory, this paper puts forward the problem and difficulty in the process of translating dead metaphor, stock metaphor and original metaphor, namely: whether the translation with the original image mapping is consistent; whether there is a loss of cultural image in the transformation.
