在1841年末在爱默生完成散文《论友谊》后,这些圈内的朋友都和爱默生走的很近,并影响爱默生的对友谊和社会关系的看法。因为福勒也视瓦尔德、巴克和斯特吉斯为好友,所以爱默生和福勒对友谊的思索实则是对一个相同的交友圈的反馈。因此,塞缪·瓦尔德和安娜·巴克的订婚以及婚礼带来的情感波动对他们友谊的影响显得尤为重要。
In 1841, Emerson finished "on friendship", a lot of friends went very close to Emerson, and influenced Emerson’s views on friendships and social relationships. Because Fowler treated Ward, Buck and Stern as friend, so Emerson and Fowler’s thinking of friendship is feedback on a same circle of friends. Therefore, Samuel, Ward and Anna, Buck's engagement and wedding wil bring emotional fluctuations, which is particularly important to impact on their friendship.
