In the teaching and learning of helicopter aerodynamics course, the experimental teaching method is adopted to enable students to master the professional knowledge better. This paper discusses not only the connotation of the teaching method but also the necessity and way to apply this method to helicopter aerodynamics course, suggesting that this method plays a role in cultivating students' innovation ability, stimulating students' interest and improving the quality of teaching. Al these show that the experimental teaching method is a kind of teaching method which can effectively promote students' learning, and it is worth to be expanded in teaching.
