As the global cultural exchanges have become more and more strengthened, the research on language and society has become more and more deeply, and the role of context in language research is irreplaceable. Translation, as a kind of cross cultural activity, naturally emphasizes more on the role and application of context. Comprehensive analysis of different context to help translators achieve the correct understanding of the content, eliminate the uncertain phenomenon, has largest role in promoting translation. This article mainly from the linguistic context, cultural context and situational context to analyze the role of context in English translation and its application path.
