Metaphor is not only a language, but also tools and results of cognitive activity, is an important way for people to communication, thinking and cognition. Metaphor is a rhetorical device, but also people's basic mode of thinking. This paper mainly explores the application of metaphors in English reading based on the perspective of cognitive linguistics.
