Wedge theory of “The Romance of West Chamber”

作为中国戏曲史上的伟大成就,元杂剧开启了戏剧文学的发展历程,"四折一楔子"构成了它的通常体制。本文以《西厢记》为例论述"楔子"其剧中所发挥的作用。

As the great achievement in the history of Chinese drama, the Yuan Opera opened the process of Chinese drama literature. The 'Four fold One wedge' constituted its fixed system. This article set 'The Romance of West Chamber' as an example to discuss the role which 'wedge' played in the opera.
