Generally speaking,nouns of locality are used to indicate and express space.Although the number of them are less,but they often occur in both spoken forms and written forms.The space deixis and the choice of reference points play an important part in the cognitive process of human beings.Thus,the research of usages of nouns of locality from the perspective of cognition means a lot.This paper mainly analyze and discuss the static nouns of locality in English by using the reference point construction theory.The purpose of the paper is to help students to better understand and use nouns of locality.
