摘要
拜厄特(A.S.Byatt)作为久负盛名的当代英国女性作家兼文学评论家,双重的身份使其在英国乃至全世界范围内都享有极高的声望。其代表作《占有》于1990年一经问世,就因其气势恢宏的叙事结构、曲折离奇的故事情节、以及巧妙的遣词造句而备受各国文学研究者的青睐,同时在评论界也引起了广泛的关注。这部号称"魔书"的小说获得了当年英国文学最高奖——布克奖,标志着拜厄特文学成就的巅峰。整部小说跨越了多个历史时期,拜厄特大量引用前人的经典作品,对经典神话和童话等前文本进行了大胆的改写,仿佛带领读者进入了一个奇妙的时空。本文拟从互文性理论视角出发,以小说对经典神话的引用与改写为切入点,探讨拜厄特是如何对经典神话进行改写,进而阐释改写后的神话人物分别影射在不同历史时期所呈现的女性人物形象,进而反映出女性人物对爱情、婚姻以及对女性命运的思考和追求。
A. S. Byatt as a famous contemporary British woman writer and literary critic, double identity makes him enjoys a high reputation in Britain and around the world. By the advent his representative work 'Possession' in 1990, because of its magnificent narrative structure, bizarre twists and turns of the story, and clever phrasing, it attracted the attention of the literary researchers of various countries, and attracted wide attention in the critics. This book was known as 'the magic book' and won the highest award, the Booker Prize in English literature, marks the peak of Byatt in literary achievement. The whole novel spans multiple historical period, Byatt quoted previously classic works, rewrote the classic myths and fairy tales, as if to lead the reader into a wonderful time. This paper from the perspective of intertextuality theory, the novels of classical myth references and rewriting as the starting point, discusses how Byatt rewrote classical mythology, and then explain the rewritten mythic figures are shown in different historical period to the female characters, which reflect the female characters of love, marriage and women's thinking and the pursuit of the fate.
