As an outstanding American writer, Hawthorne has left a precious legacy for the world literature. The translation and studies of Hawthorne in China have been full of twists and turns with different characteristics and focuses during different periods. In this paper, the author makes a detailed analysis of the translation and acceptance of Hawthorne's works in China during different historical periods, hoping to provide some references to the future study of Hawthorne.
