营口在清代前期称为"营子"或"没沟营"。而关于"营子"或"营"的由来,历代说法则不尽相同。其实,"营"即是帐房的意思,并非窝棚,它们的主人更非移民或渔夫,而是清初在辽南一带游牧驻防的巴尔虎蒙古。

In the early Qing Dynasty, Yingkou was called 'Ying Zi' or 'Mogouying'. As for the origin of 'Ying Zi' or 'Ying', the historical statements are different.
