The Application of Politeness Principle and Cooperation Principle in the Course of College Secretarial English

合作原则和礼貌原则是人们在交际活动中应当遵守的语用原则,有助于正确理解会话过程中的隐含意义正确的使用语言。本文结合《文秘英语》教材中所采用的例子来证明礼貌原则和合作原则在大学文秘英语教学中的作用,在礼貌原则和合作原则相冲突的情况,我们为了进行顺畅的沟通,通常采用礼貌原则第一位,合作原则第二位的原则,最终实现交谈的目的。

Cooperative principle and politeness principle are the pragmatic principles that should be observed in the communicative activities. The two principles can help to understand and clarify the implied meaning in the process of communication. Based on the examples, this paper attempts to make an analysis of the violation of the cooperative principle and the observance of politeness principle and arrives at a conclusion that politeness is the key to language application.
