摘要
弗兰纳里·奥康纳被誉为"南方地域性天主教作家"。她主要以短篇小说见长,在其短暂的一生中创作了30多个脍炙人口短篇小说。在她的短篇小说中奥康纳以辛辣、幽默的笔触刻画了一个知识分子群像。奥康纳笔下的知识分子完全颠覆了传统知识分子的形象,他们几乎都表现出性格乖戾、傲慢自大、愤世嫉俗、懦弱无能等特征。通过分析奥康纳对知识分子的刻画反映出奥康纳对现代知识分子的碌碌无为和虚无主义的批判。
Flannery O'Connor is known as the "Southern Regional Catholic Writer." she specializes in short stories. In her short life, she has written more than 30 popular short stories. In her short stories, O'Connor is acrid. The humorous brushwork depicts a group of intellectuals. O'Connor 's intellectuals completely subvert the image of traditional intellectuals, almost all of them show a character of surly, arrogant, cynical. Through the analysis of O'Connor 's portrayal of intellectuals, O'Connor 's criticism of modern intellectuals' mediocrity and nihilism is reflected.
