作为箱庭疗法的创始人,朵拉·卡尔夫本人对东方的道教、佛教文化都有颇深的造诣,在理论和实践方面都有所体现。随着箱庭疗法在日本和中国的发展与传播,进一步地与东方文化相结合,佛教中禅的意味,道教的无为思想,中国古代意会胜于言传的思维传统以及诸多传统的东方艺术形式都与箱庭疗法的理念方法息息相关。可以说,箱庭疗法本就是东西方文化结合的产物。
