Literary translation is an art. Translators use another appropriate and natural language to reproduce the artistic image and style of the original texts, so that the target readers can get the same aesthetic feeling as the original readers. Moonlight of the Lotus Pond is a famous masterpiece of Zhu Zi-qing's prose and this article is going to analyze it's translating version from the aspects of vocabulary and sentence based on the Functional Equivalence Theory; to explore the guiding significance of equivalence theory to prose translation.
