关联理论视域下《红楼梦》英译本研究

A Study of A Dream of Red Mansions from the Perspective of Relevance Theory

关联理论作为语言研究中的一项重要理论,不仅对认知语用学意义重大,更是在翻译领域引起广大学者的广泛关注。通过对杨宪益&戴乃迭所译版本的《红楼梦》的第一百零二回章节的实例分析,探讨不可译性,对等原则和文化缺省这三个翻译问题在实际翻译过程中的情况。研究发现关联理论在这一作品的翻译过程中发挥了重要的指导作用,甚至在此基础上文化缺省这一问题也能得到解释,可见,关联理论对翻译有着较强的解释力。

As an important theory in language studies, relevance theory functions well in cognitive pragmatics. Besides, it has also been widely applied to translation studies recently. This thesis attempts to explore issues like untranslatability, equivalence and cultural default in real translation practice by analyzing the translation excerpt of the works A Dream of Red Mansions which is translated by Yang Xianyi and Dai Naidie. It is found that relevance theory is of great value in guiding translation and interpreting translation.
